Two Early Intervention service providers from Shamkir and Kurdamir, who were recruited and trained by UAFA for the past 20 years will now be employed by the Ministry of Health in order to improve State service provision.

This is a huge success because it means that NGO development work can be sustainable in partnership with State bodies.

UAFA will continue to provide training and mentoring to the two Service providers and other Ministry of Health medical staff in these regions.

The project ‘Building Early Intervention Services in Azerbaijan’ has been running since 2016 with the support of the South Caucasus Pipeline Company. It aims to provide services to identify children’s disabilities and developmental delays as early as possible and intervene in an effort to correct them.

More than 1000 children and families have benefited so far which includes consultation, rehabilitation and home visiting.
